Kirsten Fleet dominated in her second complete game in as many days, as James Madison softball hit three home runs to roll past Penn State, for its four straight win on day two of action at the Hokie Invite in Salem.
The Auburn High School alum held Penn State (7-10) to just one run over seven innings of work, while striking out six.
It was the sophomore’s first time throwing a complete game in back-to-back days, and the first time a JMU (6-7) student-athlete has achieved the feat since Odicci Alexander against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State on June 3 and 4, 2021, during the Women’s College World Series.
On Saturday, Fleet dominated Bucknell (4-6), holding the Bison to just one run on two hits in seven innings, her third career complete game.
Fleet is now 3-2 on the season. Over her last three appearances, Fleet has thrown 19 innings, allowing just three runs and fanning eleven.
