PLAT-24-16-Farmingdale Major Subdivision-Preliminary Plat submission at 210 Farmingdale Lane by Foresight Design Services (applicant) for Jim Lucas and Charles and Virginia Shaver (owners).
Proposed 20-lot single family residential subdivision. Request includes the construction of a new public street off Farmingdale Lane with sidewalks on one side; construction of approximately 800 feet of asphalt trail within an existing trail easement and new public water service for the subdivision.
The applicant has requested a variance to Section 5-303 to not construct a street to the adjoining property; variance to Section 5-310(a) to permit a T-turnaround instead of a bulb cul-de-sac and variance to Section 5-500 to not construct trail to the adjoining property.
The Future Land Use designation is Very Low Density Residential/Agricultural.
RZN-25-1/ORD #2075-Catalyst Blacksburg PRD rezoning request at 3503 Holiday Lane by Balzer and Associates (applicant) for Greystone Companies (owner).
Rezoning request for property at 3503 Holiday Lane from existing General Commercial (GC) to Planned Residential (PR) to construct four (4) multifamily buildings for up to 300 units and up to 380 bedrooms (45 units/acre or 56 bedrooms/acre.) Buildings will be a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. There will be one entrance to the site from Yellow Sulphur Road.
The applicant has requested an exception to Section 4216 (a)(3) of the Use and Design standards requiring the street elevation of the residential buildings have at least one (1) street-oriented entrance containing the principal windows of the front unit.
The Future Land Use designation in the Comprehensive Plan for this property is Commercial.
