Two Additional People Charged in Connection to Radford Shooting

RADFORD – Two additional people have been charged in connection with the April 17 shooting in Radford.

Radford Police responded to a 911 call about gunshots fired at 3:03 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of East Main St. The incident led to a shelter in place for Radford University and Radford City Public Schools. Two people were injured in the shooting.

On April 24, Radford Police announced two additional people have been charged in connection with the shooting, in addition to two individuals charged April 18.

Dominick Anderson, 23, of Roanoke, has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated malicious wounding and conspiracy to use a firearm in the commission of a felony. Anderson is being held without bond at The New River Valley Jail.

Trevion Johnson, 21, of Roanoke, has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of firearm by convicted felon. As of production time, Johnson is currently out of state and awaiting extradition to Virginia.

On April 18, Robert Leonard, 47, of Radford, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Sidney Schwartz, 22, of Elliston, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to use a firearm in the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit aggravated malicious wounding.
