Marsha Jolley Kirk, 63, passed away April 27 after briefly being diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. She was born July 11, 1961 to Marvin Kirk and Martha Jolley Kirk in Concord, North Carolina. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, and a graduate of Catawba College in 1983 with a B.A. in performing arts. Marsha worked in customer service and hospitality services in New York City, N.Y.; Orlando, Fla., and eventually Christiansburg. Marsha worked excitedly and tirelessly for Disney World well over 20 years at various locations but most notably at Cinderalla’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom, the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Sci-Fi Drive-In at the MGM Studios where she entertained and served guests and other cast members equally. She lived to make everyone feel special, and collected friends across Fla., N.C. and Va. the way others may collect coins, and she treasured them all above all else. Everyone was Marsha’s bestie. Marsha was kind and loved to express her love language by bestowing gifts on everyone. She was generous and kind. Marsha loved her extended family, her close friends and her godchildren, all her friends and their children, the pets in her home, and loved shopping. Marsha ended her career happily employed by Earth Fare in Christiansburg doting on customers there.

Marsha is survived by brother Max Kirk of Mt. Pleasant, N.C.; sister Suzanne (Darrell) Gibson of Rutherfordton, N.C.; very special niece Shannon (Kevin) Powell of Harrisburg, N.C.; nephew Darren (Betty Ann) of Shelby, N.C.; step-brother Bud (Peggy) Kirk of Badin, N.C.; close friends Kymn Davidson-Hamley and Jeff Hamley of Christiansburg, with whom she lived, and five godchildren: Luke Hamley (Casey) of Raleigh, N.C., Elizabeth Hamley, Jake Hamley, Kyle Hamley, and Daquan Hamley of Christiansburg; close friends Keeley Lekavich of Charlotte and family; Teresa VonCannon of Concord, N.C. and family; Tina Brown of High Point, N.C. and family; and Natalie Seymour and family of Mt Pleasant, N.C., and countless other close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 7 at Gordon Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, N.C. at 3 p.m. A small memorial service will be held in Christiansburg on May 9 at Belmont Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers, considerations for donations may be made to a local animal shelter of your choice, or to the Greater 2.0 Outreach Ministry of Belmont Christian Church, 1500 Peppers Ferry Rd NW, Christiansburg, VA which Marsha supported.
