2050 LONG RANGE 2050 LONG RANGE
TRANSPORTATION PLAN TRANSPORTATION PLAN
The New River Valley Metropolitan Planning
Organization (NRVMPO) seeks public comment on
the 2050 Long Range
Transportation Plan
update. The purpose of
the update is to conform
with the planning
horizon year. Copies of
the Plan will be available Sept. 17, 2025 for review
at: Planning Offices in Blacksburg, Christiansburg,
Radford, the Counties of Montgomery and Pulaski,
and on the MPO website at: www.nrvmpo.org.
Deadline for Written Comments: Oct. 15, 2025
Public meetings are scheduled on Sept. 24, 2025
at the Montgomery County Government Center
and Oct. 1, 2025 at the New River Valley Regional
Commission. Both meetings are from 4:00 pm to 6:00
pm. The Plan is developed in accordance with the
federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

The New River Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization (NRVMPO)
gives public notice of its policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of
the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (PL
100.259), and all related statutes. The NRVMPO is committed to ensuring
that no person in the United States of American shall, on the grounds of race,
color, or national origin, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the
benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program
or activity for which the NRVMPO receives Federal financial assistance as
