Town of Blacksburg Planning Commission

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the Town of Blacksburg will conduct the following public hearings on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, during its meeting beginning at 6:30 PM in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Council Chamber, 300 South Main St, Blacksburg, VA on the following items:
- CUP-25-4-Conditional Use Permit request for Multi-Family Duplex in OTR Old Town Residential at 205 Washington Street SW (Tax Map No. 256-A119)
The basement level of the three-level building will be used for storage and mechanical space, and the upper two floors will each have one (1) two-bedroom/1 bath apartment on each floor. The existing four (4) parking spaces will stay at the rear of the property to serve the units. The Town of Blacksburg Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use designation is Medium Density Residential. This proposed development will not increase density beyond the future land use designation.
- RZN-25-7/ORD #2094-Rezoning Request from GC General Commercial to PR Planned Residential for Mixed Use-Multi-Family and Commercial development at 702 University City Boulevard (Tax Map Nos. 225-10 B-1, 225-10 B-2B and 225-10 B-3)
The rezoning request includes construction of one six-story building with two floors of parking and four floors of residential units above. A minimum of 10% of the units are proposed to be affordable. The proposed density is 254 units (183 bedrooms/acre). The Future Land Use designation is Commercial.
Persons affected by or interested in the conditional use permit request or rezoning request may appear and present their views. After the hearing, the Planning Commission may take action.
