CHRISTIANSBURG – The Town of Christiansburg hosted a fun-filled morning of running, costumes, candy, and pancakes at the annual Getting Scary on the Huckleberry event at the Christiansburg Recreation Center Saturday, Oct. 25.
A Kid’s Fun Run kicked off the event in the morning, followed by a 5K Run/Walk. During the Truck-or-Treat, kids got the chance to check out a variety of trucks while collecting candy from local organizations. There was also a costume contest, and prizes were given out for spookiest, funniest and most creative costumes. Awards were also given for first, second, and third overall finishers and medals for top finishers in each age group for the run/walk. The Christiansburg Parks and Recreation staff served their famous pumpkin pancakes to all race participants.
