Members of the General William Campbell Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, were treated to a visit from “Patrick Henry” recently at the Radford Public Library.
Regent Wynona Gabbert presided at the meeting. The guest speaker was Patrick Henry Jolly, both the fifth and sixth great grandson of Patrick Henry, American Patriot, who delivered the famous “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech on March 23, 1775. Jolly’s rousing rendition of the same speech was most appropriate as the chapter was celebrating Constitution Week. His presentation was patriotic, enlightening and displayed great pride in his heritage. He is currently on staff at Red Hill, which was the home of Patrick Henry.
Guests included members from Alleghany, Fort Lewis, Peaks of Otter and Count Pulaski Chapters, NSDAR. Special thanks go to Elizabeth Sensabaugh of the Radford Public Library who helped coordinate the visit from Jolly.
