Four Montgomery County elementary schools got a welcomed surprise recently when members of the Rotary Club of Montgomery County presented checks totaling $4,500 to Auburn Elementary, Belview Elementary, Eastern Montgomery Elementary and Prices Fork Elementary.
The money is the result of the club’s pancake breakfast fundraiser held at the end of September to raise money for the club’s Coats for Kids campaign, which provides coats and other outerwear to school children. Through the generous support of the community and the $1,000 donation matching challenge from Dr. Robert “Bob” Denton, this year’s pancake breakfast set a new fundraising record. The Coats for Kids campaign has been a club project for the past 16 years.
