Richard Wayne Hinkley, 62, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026. He was born Oct. 5, 1963, in Christiansburg. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Hinkley; father, Jonah Hinkley; sisters, Barbara Jennings, Betty Harris, Katie Musselman and Judy Bonds; and brothers, Roger, Thomas, Sam, Vernus and Jack Hinkley. He is survived by his sisters, Becky Lovern and Nancy Custer; brothers, Gary Hinkley and T. Michael Bond; good friend, Emma Poff; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Rev. Dwayne Martin officiating. Interment followed at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. Visitation was held prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
