Christiansburg High girls’ soccer coach Scott Duff and Auburn boys’ soccer coach Kris Teaford both picked up their 100th wins this past week, while Auburn boys’ Cole Jones bagged his sixth assist of the ’26 campaign this past week, which is the 33rd of his career.

This makes him the all-time career assist record holder for the Auburn High School boy’s soccer program.

Cole passed ’22 Captain and Virginia High School League Player of the Year Chris Neal who collected 32 assists in his career.

River Turtles season starts June 4

A new season of Pulaski River Turtles baseball is slated to begin Thursday, June 4, at Calfee Park against the Johnson City Doughboys. The opening night date marks the second consecutive year that the Appalachian League season will begin at home in Pulaski.

The 2026 River Turtles schedule includes 24 home games, with 11 home games in June and 13 home games in July, and the regular season finale scheduled for Thursday, July 30. In total, the 2026 schedule boasts 48 dates.

All home games will begin at 7 p.m. with the exception of Sunday contests, which will feature first pitch at 5:30 p.m. A collection of promotional nights will accentuate the action-packed schedule, headlined by the return of the Pulaski Counts Series, Agriculture Night, Saddle-Up Sunday and Circus Night.

2026 will mark Pulaski’s 60th season fielding teams in the Appalachian League. The River Turtles have earned four top three finishes in the Appalachian League East Division dating back to 2021, including an East Division Championship in the inaugural season of the league’s collegiate wood-bat format.
