CHRISTIANSBURG – The New River Valley Home Builders Association (NRVHBA) has announced the winners of their LEGO Home Building Contest, held during the New River Valley Home Expo at the Christiansburg Rec Center.

More than 40 LEGO custom home building creations big and small wowed the crowd. The 1,400 attendees at the NRV Home Expo were invited to vote for their favorite entry and Best in Show winners were chosen from among four age groups. Entries were judged at the 2026 NRV Home Expo by a panel of expert judges. Each entry received scores based on Overall Design, the Best Use of LEGO Elements, Story, and the “Cool Factor” (overall creativity and originality).  An award was also given for the People’s Choice in both the kids and adult categories.

Jason Hardy, an NRVHBA board member, and representative from the Lego Contest Sponsor, Carter Bank, announced the winners from each category. All winners were awarded uniquely designed medals for their creative efforts.

Billie Quesenberry, Events and Marketing Coordinator for the NRVHBA, said, “We’re always so excited to host the LEGO Home Building Contest. It’s one of the ways we hope to inspire and interact with the next generation of home builders early and often.”

Winners of the contest were:

Best in Show, ages 4-6: Booker

Best in Show, ages 7-10: Malachi

Best in Show, ages 11-16, and People’s Choice Winner, Kids: Jonathan

Best in Show and People’s Choice, Adults: Alex Chaney

The NRVHBA congratulates all the winners and thanks all the participants for submitting entries. Stay tuned for next year’s contest and start planning your Lego masterpiece now!
