Sherry Ann Woolwine, 69, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at her home. Sherry fought a courageous battle since 2001 after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm. Her life has since been plagued with medical issues and illnesses. But God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. Sherry overcame so many obstacles in her lifetime. She was tough as nails and fought till the bitter end.

She is survived by her precious parents, John and Polly Woolwine; brother, Craig; niece, Stephanie, and nephew, Nathan. Sherry was married to Mike Linkous for 25 years and was given their children Michelle Anderson, Andy Linkous and Lee Ann Linkous. Sherry’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, Gabriel Moore, Keira Moore, Lillee Linkous and Shayden Linkous.

Sherry’s closest companions were her dogs, Dilly and Sable. No doubt Sherry’s reunion with Dilly was worth all the tears she cried when Dilly passed. Sherry had many special friends that were family to her, Augie, Billie and Tim Hutchison, her friend Mrs. Beavers, and all those she lived near who kept an eye on her.

She will be missed by those who loved her. Her suffering has ended in the arms of Jesus.

Special thanks to Tammy at Wythe Palliative for her care, and ACG Hospice for making her last days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

Funeral services were conducted, Saturday, May 23, 2026 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Chris Blackburn officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends prior to the service.
