Blacksburg’s Grace Li returns against EC Glass’ H.G. Sackett in a Region 4D quarterfinal match in number two singles. She lost a close match 6-7, 3-6. Blacksburg girls saw their season end as well by a 5-4 team score.Blacksburg’s Reed Marsden hits a backhand return in the number one singles match in the Region 4D championship against Charlottesville’s Sean Frank. He dropped the match by a score of 6-2, 6-3.The Blacksburg boys tennis team faced Charlottesville in the Region 4D team championship on Wednesday. They finished as runners up, losing 1-5 to the Black Knights, but will still advance to the state tournament. Senior Youngmin Kim won his number two singles match, 6-2, 6-4. Kim and teammate Reed Marsden were the Region 4D doubles champions and compete in the Class 4 state doubles tournament.Blacksburg senior Christina Druta won her number four singles match against EC Glass’ Caroline Shoemaker, 6-1, 6-2.
