
The Auburn High School boys’ soccer team put together a historic 19-3-2 record during the 2026 season, before falling in the Class 1 state semifinals.
The team captured both the Mt. Empire District and Region 1C championships.
They secured the region crown with a 4-2 victory on June 3 over Galax. After winning their Class 1 quarterfinal match, Auburn advanced to the state semis where the season ended in a hard-fought loss to a tough Northampton squad.
Auburn’s Jared Bradley was named both the Mt. Empire District and Region 1C player of year. His coach, Kris Teaford, was named the MED coach of the year.
Bradley, a senior forward, finished the season with 25 goals and 15 assists. He was also named to the Class 1 first team.
He was joined on the MED first team list by teammates, Cole Jones, Ethan Sutphin, Jude Miear, Ethan Rosenbaum and Ethan Board. Auburn’s Alex Zuckerwar was named second team.
Bradley was joined on the region first team by teammates, Jones, Sutphin, Miear, Rosenbaum and Board. Eastern Montgomery’s Prince Robinson, Caleb Sampson and goalie Chase Biermann were also named to first team all-region.
Eastern Montgomery dominated the all-region second-team with six selections. Nick Smith was joined by Spencer Sisson, Victor Wonner, Parker Wonner, Kellam Stewart and Olivia Boone.
Auburn’s Cole Jones and Jude Miear joined Bradley on the Class 1 first-team with teammates Sutphin, Rosenbaum and Beard being named to the second-team along with Eastern Montgomery’s Chase Biermann.
