Lonnie “Lonzo” Bishop Robinson, born Oct. 22, 1966 in Baltimore, Md. and a long term resident of Radford, passed away June 29, 2026.
He left behind his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn “Sue” Robinson; daughter, Brittney Nicole Robinson; and his pride and joy, granddaughter Ava Arrington Smith.
Lonzo loved to fish, hunt, being outdoors and anything with his family. He was a master of all trades with a touch of a finger. He would tell stories and jokes and could make anyone laugh until they cried. He had a knack for giving everyone their own special and unique nickname.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Doyal Robinson; mother, Loretta Robinson; and brother, Jason Robinson.
He is also survived by his sister, Doylene “Tony” Heizman; sister, Karen (late Joe) Harris, Laura (Mike) Lee; brother, Craig (Sissy) Robinson; and loved by many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, a great-great nephew; as well as many close and special friends.
A memorial service was held Friday, July 3, 2026 in the McCoy Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Jason Vaughn officiating. Visitation was prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to help the family with expenses.
