The Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center (ACAC) will offer free adoptions Saturday, Aug. 29 and Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Community members are encouraged to visit montva.com/acac to view adoptable cats and dogs.
Throughout August, ACAC is participating in WSLS’ Clear the Shelters initiative, joining shelters across the region to help more pets find permanent homes. This year marks ACAC’s ninth consecutive year participating in the campaign. Over that time, the center has placed 1,003 animals into new homes through Clear the Shelters events.
The free‑adoption weekend supports the Clear the Shelters mission and reflects ACAC’s ongoing commitment to compassionate care, responsible adoption and community engagement.
