The Town of Blacksburg is beginning its next Comprehensive Plan update, Blacksburg Horizons, and is looking for public input.
The Comprehensive Plan is a community-wide roadmap for Blacksburg’s future, updated every five years. It helps guide decisions about land use, housing, transportation, the economy, parks and recreation, the environment, public safety and more.
Your input can help answer questions about what the community should look like in the future. How can the town preserve its small-town feel, natural beauty, and strong sense of community while meeting the needs of a changing population? Whether you have lived in Blacksburg for decades or just recently arrived, your perspective matters.
Visit Let’s Talk Blacksburg online to take the survey, drop a pin on the interactive map and learn more about Blacksburg Horizons. The project includes two tools to help gather feedback:
Community Survey: Take the brief online survey to share your thoughts about Blacksburg’s future and help identify the community’s priorities.
Interactive Map: Use the interactive map to add a favorite place in Blacksburg, as well as a place you think could be improved.
The survey and map will be available until Dec. 18, 2026 at 5 p.m. Community feedback is vital to creating a Comprehensive Plan that reflects the priorities, ideas and vision of the people who call Blacksburg home. Help plan Blacksburg’s tomorrow, together.
