Carol Sue Main Swindell, 94, of Radford, died Sept. 19, 2026, in Roanoke. She was born Nov. 15, 1931. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Radford and worked tirelessly with Radford Fairlawn Daily Bread. She was an accomplished pianist, oil color artist, championship tennis player and bridge enthusiast. She enjoyed swimming every summer at Pine Valley and exercising at the Radford Rec. Dept.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Erwin and her husband, Rob; her son, Bob Swindell Jr. and his wife, Barbara; three grandchildren: Rob Swindell III and his wife, Amanda, Joe Swindell and wife, Meg and Becky Erwin Ashby and her husband, Andrew; six great-grandchildren: Bowen, Barrett and Baylor Ashby and Abigail, Sebastian and Leo Swindell, all of Roanoke; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
