The City of Radford is working its way through a possible data incident that shut down city offices, emails and phone lines.
“As soon as we became aware of this incident, the City’s leadership immediately engaged cybersecurity professionals, legal counsel, and state and federal law enforcement to remediate and investigate this incident,” the city announced Sept. 29. “Our investigation is ongoing, there is limited information at this point, and we will make additional information available as soon as practical. We want you to know that the city takes information security seriously and is taking steps to strengthen our security posture and protect city data. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.”
“This incident impacted various city departments; however, our internal teams have been working around the clock to maintain and restore critical municipal services.”
