Radford Parks and Recreation has announced the reopening of its tennis and pickleball courts at Bisset Park, following an extensive renovation.
The courts have been closed since Hurricane Helene impacted the area more than two years ago. After a long process of planning, repairs and improvements, the facilities are now ready for the community to enjoy.
Radford Parks and Recreation Director Charlie Goens said the department is extremely excited to welcome the community back to the Bisset courts.
“We know it has been a long wait, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding throughout the renovation. We hope our residents and visitors enjoy these newly renovated courts for years to come,” he said.
The department extended its appreciation to Radford City Council, City Manager Todd Meredith, city staff, contractors, community partners and many others who helped to make this project possible. Goens said their support and commitment were instrumental in bringing these improvements to completion.
The renovated courts are part of Radford’s continued effort to enhance recreational opportunities throughout the community. The department has announced it looks forward to adding more amenities and improvements to the courts in the near future.
An official reopening ceremony will be held at a later date.
