Radford High School would host Friday’s Region 2C meet, finishing third in both the boys’ and girls’ competition. Floyd ran away with both team titles, outdistancing Appomattox on the girls’ side of the track 135.5 to 129 and on the boys’ side, 171 points to Glenvar’s 83.
Radford finished with 82 points in the boys’ competition and 79 for girls, both third places in team scores.
Trenton Carter would finish first in both the 100 and 200 meters. He was clocked at 10.82 in the 100. He would also win the long jump event.
Khyree Lewis had the only other first place for the Cats with a throw of 47-8 in the shot.
Grant Keister took fourth in the 400, Valentin Soto was fourth in the 800, and William Steele was fourth in the 1,600 meters.
Jaden Hendricks would take a third in the 110 hurdles and fifth in the 300 hurdles.
On the girls side of the track, Kearson Carter had a first in the 200 (27.05), and followed that up with a second in the long jump.
Cora Mosby claimed the 3,200 title with a time of 12:20.51. Leila Pugliese was first in the high jump, and Bryanna Perry was second in the 300 hurdles. Raelin Adams was second in the shot.
