BLACKSBURG — Original Frameworks (1344 S. main Street) in Blacksburg will be featuring the works of local artist Dave Petersen during the month of April. On display will be Petersen’s original oil paintings and various works of photography, framed and unframed.
Dave Petersen grew up in Salem, Virginia and has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in art. He was a high school art teacher in Salem and Roanoke for 20 years before moving to the New River Valley to be an administrator. Petersen is a self-taught nature and stock photographer, often using his photos as subjects for oil paintings. He loves to explore and capture the dynamic landscapes out west, a favorite subject matter.
