RADFORD – New River Community Action, Inc. (NRCA) Board of Directors elected officers at its annual board meeting.
Elected were Tonia Winn, board chairperson; John McEnhill, vice-chairperson; and Lee Simpkins, Secretary/Treasurer. As officers for the board, they also serve on the Board’s executive committee.
Board chairperson Tonia Winn is the Montgomery County government representative to the board appointed by the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors. She has served on the NRCA Board of Directors since May 2017. She has worked in the human services field for 28 years and is currently the Director of Human Services for Montgomery County.
Board vice-chairperson John McEnhill is the Floyd government representative to the Board appointed by the Floyd County Board of Supervisors. McEnhill has served on the NRCA Board of Directors since June 2002 and had been chair of the board since 2012. He currently serves as board chair for the Floyd County Department of Social Services and volunteers many hours each month for several NRCA board committees and special projects.
Board secretary/treasurer Robert “Lee” Simpkins is Radford City’s ex-officio representative. Simpkins has served on the NRCA Board since August 2015. As secretary/treasurer, he also serves as the chair of the board’s finance committee. Simpkins is the retired Radford City fire chief.
The 2022-23 Board of Directors also includes Sarah Greene from Floyd County; Kelly Patton,
Melissa Dodson, and Corbin Vierling from Giles County; Aline Brinckman from Montgomery
County; Michael Grigsby, Linda Baylor, and The Rev. Gina Rhea from the City of Radford. Dr. Boyoung Park is an ex-officio member with expertise in early childhood education. Krystal Thompson is the board’s chief executive officer.
