Christiansburg senior Lawson Mecom ran strong from the first heat to place a close third overall in the 3A state championship 3200m race.Blacksburg’s Ana Szefc placed second in the high jump with a clearance of 5-00Lauren Logwood takes the baton from teammate Madelyn Moles in the 4x100m at the Class 3 championship meet. Along with Nataliah Bishop and Leila Haley, the team placed 8th overall (51.09).With a big last lap kick, Blacksburg’s Conner Rutherford won the Class 4 3200m championship in a time of 9:07.13.
