Superintendent Mark Miear
Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Mark Miear has transformed the communication culture in MCPS through an innovative social media approach and relationship building activities throughout the district.
To recognize his achievement, Miear was named a Superintendent to Watch by the National School Public Relations Association. The award recognizes superintendents who possess dynamic, fast-paced leadership with strong communication at its core.
“Dr. Miear’s leadership has improved the district’s presence across the County – our classroom activities are more visible for parents and our activities are better promoted,” said Gunin Kiran, school board chair. “He encourages all of us, including board members, to always improve our communication efforts.”
Miear is one of 20 honorees for the recognition and one of two Virginia superintendents to receive the award.
