Drug bust in Radford

RADFORD — On Monday, March 25 investigators with the Radford City Police Department and members of the Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 421 Sanford Street in Radford in regards to the illegal sale of marijuana. Upon entry members seized marijuana, numerous smoking devices, over $5,000 in cash as well as components and materials associated with a DMT drug lab. A DMT lab is similar in makeup to a meth lab and uses some of the same ingredients. Numerous items were recovered associated with the manufacturing of DMT.

The Radford City Fire Department responded to check for hazardous materials and test for air quality. No apartments were evacuated and no residents were believed to be in danger.

Three individuals identified at the residence were arrested and charged in connection to this incident, their charges and bond information is listed below. Gleich and Hope were residents of the apartment, Nelson was not.

Lucas Michael Nelson, age 18 – of Hampton Va. (He is not a resident of the apartment)

He has been charged with the following:

18.2-256/18.2-248.1 — Conspire to sell or distribute more than 1/2 ounce of marijuana.

18.2-256/18.2-248 — Conspire to manufacture a controlled substance in Schedule I or II.

He is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail on $1,000 bond.

Casey Michael Gleich age 19 – of Radford was charged with the following:

18.2-256/18.2-248.1- Conspire to sell or distribute more than 1/2 ounce of marijuana.

18.2-256/18.2-248- Conspire to manufacture a controlled substance in Schedule I or II.

18.2-248- Manufacture a controlled substance in Schedule I or II.

He is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail on $1,500.

Colin Parker Hope, age 20 of Radford was charged with the following:

18.2-256/18.2-248.1- Conspire to sell or distribute more than 1/2 ounce of marijuana.

18.2-248- Manufacture a controlled substance in Schedule I or II.

18.2-248.1- Distribution of more than ½ ounce of marijuana but less than 5 pounds.

18.2-256/18.2-248- Conspire to manufacture a controlled substance in Schedule I or II.

He is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail on a $2,500 bond.
