Kinsley, Clara Mae Duncan

Clara Mae Duncan Kinsley, 93, of Christiansburg, died Friday, April 28, 2017 at her home. She was born in Blacksburg Nov. 11, 1923 to the late Elmer Clinton and Mollie Lee Smith Duncan.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kinsley, Jr.; four brothers, Edward C. Duncan, Richard (Bud) Duncan, Thurman A. Duncan, and Carl W. Duncan; a sister, Lois Barker; and a daughter-in-law, Paulette Kinsley. She retired from Virginia Tech Laundry after 45 years of service.

She also attended Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debbie Kinsley; sister, Gladys D. Young; brother and sister-in-law, William Ford and Phyllis Duncan, sisters-in-law, Clara Duncan, Evelyn Duncan, and Kitty Duncan; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers, Lodis Sickey, Jane Smith, Jean Wright, Thelma, Janice, April, Sybil, Lisa, Joy, Janet, and Carilion New River Hospice.

A Funeral Service was conducted Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

The family received friends Monday evening at McCoy Funeral Home.
