Seniors Rally Williams and Ann Marie O’Reilly were named Mr. and Miss Christiansburg High School for 2019-20 Sunday at the annual variety show and Mr. and Miss CHS competition.

Seniors Rally Williams and Ann Marie O’Reilly were named Mr. and Miss Christiansburg High School for 2019-20 Sunday afternoon at the annual variety show and competition sponsored by the Future Business Leaders of America.

The duo was chosen by a vote of the student body. Representatives from 23 school clubs and organizations and representatives from each of the high school classes competed for the title. Williams represented the school’s Corps of Cadets. O’Reilly represented Blue Demon United.

The competition was the second half of a program held in the high school auditorium. The first part of the afternoon was a talent show that featured 14 students and/or groups of students performing on stage.

Drew Dodson won the talent competition with his rendition of the Animals classic, “House of the Rising Sun.” In second place was the quartet of Maddie Townley, Anna Payne, Shelby Hawley and Sheridan Averett. They performed “Hey Ya.”

In third place was Jade Riddle, who sang Kelly Clarkson’s “Cry.” Sophomore Dillon Partin came in fourth. He sang Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” and accompanied himself on the guitar. Ellie Rowland won the final spot in the competition with a hula-hoop dance to “Wow I’m Not Crazy.”

FBLA President Ali Manzoor opened up the program with the welcome. Allison Epperly served as the Master of Ceremonies. The talent judges were Mallory Bacalis, Angela Whitt and CHS Principal Tony Deibler.
