Virginia Tech’s penultimate event in a weeklong celebration of homecoming was Saturday morning’s parade in downtown Blacksburg. The Highty-Tighties, the regimental band of Tech’s Corps of Cadets, are pictured above as they step out in the parade. Also on hand were the Marching Virginians, who comprise Tech’s collegiate marching band; the VT Spirit Squads, including the HokieBird; and this 2019 homecoming king and queen, Sam Dickerson of the German Club and Desiree Velez of Latin Link. The parade’s grand marshall was former Hokie football player and current Pittsburgh Steeler Terrell Edmunds.
