Montgomery, Radford, Floyd NAACP to hold Freedom Fundraising program

The Montgomery Co., Radford City, Floyd branch of the NAACP will hold its Freedom Fundraising Program virtually via Facebook on Saturday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m.

The theme of the program is “We Won’t Go Back.” The guest speaker will be the Rev. William “Bill” Lee, retired pastor of the Loudon Avenue Christian Church in Roanoke. A community activist and social justice advocate, Lee is the founder of New Horizon Health Care in Roanoke. In 2011, he was named Roanoke’s Citizen of the Year.

The program will include the presentation of the 2022 Nannie B Hairston Community Service and fully paid NAACP Silver Life membership awards.

Sponsorship at the levels listed below or higher will receive program recognition, social media display, and a special gift from the branch that includes products made by or distributed by black-owned companies.

The Freedom Fund sponsorship levels are benefactor, 1,000; sustainer, $500; and supporter , $300.

Checks should be made payable to MRF NAACP and mailed to P. O. Box 6044  Christiansburg, VA 24068. Sponsors may also donate online by using this hyperlink: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mrf-naacp-freedomfund.

To receive recognition at the event as a sponsor, email info@mrfnaacp.org with the appropriate level of commitment by Sept. 26, 2022. 

All donations will be accepted and acknowledged through Nov. 1, 2022.
