Selby, Peggy Ann

Peggy Ann Selby, 79 of Blacksburg, went to join her heavenly Father on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Lourie and Lester Shaver of Blacksburg; sons, Leroy Linkous Jr. of Christiansburg, and Richard Linkous and Robert Croote of Riner; grandchildren, Bridgette Strup and husband Dan, and Amber Linkous; great grandchildren, Georgia and Penelope Strup; sister Lois and Malcom Woolwine; and best friend, Gloria Hilton. She leaves to cherish her memory, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Kit Linkous; husband, Leroy Linkous; brother, William Linkous; and sisters, Nancy Wright and Linda Sweeney. 

Peggy retired after 34 years at Hubbell Lighting in Christiansburg. Our mom was a great inspiration in the way she gave of herself in caring for others. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening and loved her pets.

A memorial service will be held, Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, Va., at 3 p.m. Visitation will be prior to the service from, 2- 3 p.m. A special thank you to her caregivers, Laura Bentley, Penny Thompson, her furry companion Razz, and Good Samaritan Hospice caregivers, Brittany, Connie and Karen. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Samaritan Hospice can be made in Peggy’s name.
