In early August, baseball’s Carson DeMartini, women’s soccer’s Victoria Haugen, Tori Powell, Lauren Gogel, and Alia Skinner, and wrestling’s Bryce Andonian of Virginia Tech participated in the Kid’s Farmers Market. The event was a collaboration between Feeding Southwest Virginia and Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia. The Kids’ Farmers Market Program (KFM), a pop-up interactive experience organized by Feeding Southwest Virginia, provides free produce and vital nutrition education to children from families facing financial constraints or limited access to fresh produce.
