The Pioneer District has announced its 2023 all-district volleyball team with two from Eastern Montgomery High School, being named to the first-team, senior Hailey Akers and sophomore Olivia Boone.

Teammates Maddie Boone, Brookelyn Kingery, Caiden Roupe and Macie Akers were named to the second-team.

Christiansburg finished second in River Ridge District volleyball play with a 21-4 record, and for that, Christiansburg coach Lisa Dalton was named the district coach of the year. The team was scheduled to play Hidden Valley early this week for the region championship but will advance to state play no matter the result.

Christiansburg’s Addison Reasor and Ela Shepherd were named the first-team announced this past week. Blacksburg’s Emma Castle and Su Kato joined them on the first list.

Christiansburg placed two to the second-team in Reese Hall and Blythe Akers, while Blacksburg placed two on the second team in Audrey Stenger and Rowan English.

Braelynn Williams of Christiansburg was announced for the honorable mention list.
