Donald Lee Wood, 86, of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully from this world to his heavenly home Sunday, May 19, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Don worked at Lynchburg Foundry for 35 years and retired and worked at Plymouth, Inc. for five years.
He was a faithful man of God and loved his Lord. He lived for him seven days a week, 24 hours a day. He was also a loving devoted husband and dad.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel T. Wood; children, JoAnn Wood Lytton (Dennis), Rodney Wood (Maura) and Susan Flinchum Wood (Eugene); grandchildren, Nicholas Wood, Jeremiah Flinchum, Nicole Howell Lytton and Keith Lytton; great-grandchildren, Christion Brightwell, Hunter Brightwell, Brooklyn Howell and Caleb Lytton; and great-great-grandchild, Kal-El Brightwell.
A funeral service was held Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home chapel with Brother Don Leonard officiating. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family received friends prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
