Michael A. Lee Sr., a devoted father, brother, and son, passed away peacefully April 18, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia. Born on March 24, 1952, in New River, Virginia, he was 73 years old at the time of his passing. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University, where he laid the foundation for his successful career as an Electrical Engineer with VIT. Known for his intellect and dedication to his work, Michael made significant contributions to the field throughout his career.

Outside of his professional life, Michael had a passion for sports and leisure activities. He particularly loved playing pickleball and darts, where his competitive spirit shone brightly, and he enjoyed the camaraderie these games brought with family and friends.

Michael was the beloved son of Sherman and Audrey Lee of New River, Virginia. He is survived by his sisters, Marchelle Flynn (John) and Lynn Johnson (Howard); Michael was a loving father to three sons: Michael A. Lee Jr. (Sadie) of Des Moines, Iowa; Maurice Lee (Lindsay) of Jacksonville, Florida; and Aaron M. Lee of Chesapeake, Virginia. His legacy continues through his four grandchildren (Zoey, Mary, Olivia, Delaney), with another joyfully expected, who will grow up hearing stories of their grandfather’s generous spirit and zest for life. He also leaves an uncle, four aunts, nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends to cherish his memory. Though our hearts are heavy with his loss, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind. Michael was a man of integrity, kindness, and humor, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025 at the First Missionary Baptist Church, New River at 7318 Manns Drive, Fairlawn, VA 24141, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable life he lived. The family will receive friends 11 – 11:30 a.m. and the memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friends and family are invited to sign the guest book at www.altmeyerfuneralandcremation.com.
