
The Christiansburg High School girls’ track team defended their home track on Thursday with a second place team finish in the Region 3D meet.
Leila Haley took regional championships in the 100, 200 and 400 meters, while Jenna Saia was first in the pole vault event at 9-6 meters.
Grace Ballad had second place finishes in the high jump and 300-meter hurdles. She also finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. Ayva Haley was third in the triple jump.
Riley Larimer was second in the 3200 and Addison Meacom third in 800.
The Christiansburg girls also won the 4X800 relay.
On the boys’ side of the track, Christiansburg’s Donovan Richardson took the triple jump title with a leap of 46-6.5. Tyler Hamlin was second in the 3,200 with teammate Ian Avila in third. Tyler Gaston would finish third in the 110 hurdles and fourth in the 300 hurdles.
