Clayton Otis Linkous, 74, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, July 19, 2025.
He was born in Montgomery, Co. July 9, 1951 to the late Otis and Stella Early Linkous. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, James Early and Irene Davis; step-father-in-law, Paul Davis; sister, Pam Linkous; brother, John Linkous; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine and Bobby Dove; and sister-in-law, Gail Bain.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served in the U. S. Army. Clayton retired as the manager for Advance Auto for over 25 years. He was a member of Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Linkous; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and William Eanes; grandchildren, Christian Eanes and Makayla Eanes (Garrett McCann); sisters and brothers-in-law, Priscilla and Mike Patrick, Ponnie and Ben Shawver and Debbie and Eddie Gallimore; brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Gina Linkous; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Hilda and Bill Walls, Sherman and Debbie Early, Dale and Nancy Early; and William Bain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Dr. Patel, the nurses and staff at New River Valley Medical Center for their care of Clayton during his illness. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wes Connor and Pastor Eddie Gallimore officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
