BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech Montgomery Regional Airport Authority has been awarded a $484,863 federal grant.
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding will support the construction of three new 3,600 square foot hangars at the Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport.
“Federal dollars continue to support the construction of new storage space for airports in Virginia’s Ninth District,” said U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA). “This grant for more than $484,000 helps the Virginia Tech Montgomery Regional Airport Authority deliver improved storage space to the Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport.”
This grant money was made available through the FAA Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Infrastructure Grant program. The Virginia Tech Montgomery Regional Airport Authority include officials from Virginia Tech, Montgomery County and the towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg.
