
Auburn High School is the Region 1C outdoor track champs.
Last week, Isayeh Hamann led the Auburn boys with three first place finishes as the team outdistanced Eastern Montgomery 221 to 120 points. On the girls’ side of the track, Allyson Harris won both the discus and shot as Auburn outdistanced George Wythe 185 to 143.
Auburn’s Kaleigh McManus would finish second in the girls’ shot with Eastern Montgomery’s Nevaeh Webb third.
The Auburn girls rolled with the first three places in pole value as Sam Lewis notched 6-0, with Kyleigh Akers second and Malia Backwalter third. Johnnie Gaynor finished second in the long jump and in the 300 hurdles.
The 1,600 meters belonged to Auburn with 2-4 as Beverly Warner led teammates Alyson Funk and Charlee Songer across the line. Funk finished second in the 800 meters.
Hamann took titles in the 100 meters, 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
His teammates, Achilles Axline and Patrick Surface, finished second and third in the 300 hurdles.
Gideon Miear finished first in the high jump with Eastern Montgomery’s Marshall Tate second. Auburn’s Achilles Exline finished third.
Miear finished second in the triple jump with teammate James King third.
Auburn dominated the boys’ pole vault with a 1-2-3. Trevin Mower won the event with Seth Richmeier second and Alex Zuckerwar third.
The big winner for Auburn was Kobi Bonds who won the discus and shot. His throw of 62-01 claimed the shot. Auburn’s Raliegh Brown finished second in both events. Auburn’s Colton Honaker was third in the discus.
