The Pioneer District has released its spring all-district teams with Eastern Montgomery’s softball’s Macie Akers being named player of year and Neil Artrip coach of the year.
Akers was joined on the first-team for softball as a shortstop with pitcher Mary Miller and outfielder Rena Chandler.
Second-teamers for Eastern Montgomery included outfielder Kenzie Dunbar, designated player Alannia Collins, second baseman Sam Nrein and first baseman Lexi Perkins.
Eastern Montgomery placed three on the honorable mention list: Dixie Lewis. Katie Sayler and Carly Davidson-Bibb.
The school dominated both the baseball and boys’ soccer teams announced on Friday.
Caleb Sampson was named the district boys’ soccer player of the year, and his coach, Henry Buchanan was the coach of the year.
Sampson was named to the first-team with Prince Robinson, Nick Smith, Spencer Sisson, Victor Wonner, Parker Wonner, Kellan Stewart, Olivia Boone and Chase Bierman. Eastern Montgomery’s Eric Mendoza-Cruz was second-team.
Two Mustangs were named to the Pioneer first-team for baseball. Outfielders Caleb Jones and Colton Conner were honored by the district coaches. Catcher Mason Phoenix and designated hitter Raylan Conner were named to the second team.
Honorable mentions included Dusty Huff, Grayden Lawson, Brayden Kingery and Owen Keith.
