Auburn places two on conference all-star team

The 1A state champion Radford Bobcats placed three players on the Conference 45, Western Gate boys’ team announced Wednesday. Sophomore guard Quinton Morton-Robertson was the player of the year, while his coach Rick Cormany was coach of the year.


Morton-Robertson was joined on the first team by teammates Miles Jones and Kam Edwards, also sophomores.

Auburn’s Dylan Akers was a first teamer, while Preston Woodson was second team along with Eastern Montgomery freshman Trey Wilson.

Radford’s Alante Doyle was named honorable mention along with Auburn’s Cole Epperly and Kyle Altizer.

Morton-Robertson was also named the region 1A West player of the year, and Cormany continued his honors with coach of the year.

Honaker and former Christiansburg forward Alec Anderson were named first team all-region. Radford’s Kam Edwards was announced on the all-region second team.

The honorable mention team included: Kaleb Smith of Eastern Montgomery, Dylan Akers of Auburn and Miles Jones of Radford.

Radford also placed two players on the girls’ Conference 45 all-star team. Charlie Dietz and Madison Page were named to the second team.
