Chimer Davis Clark, Sr. 83, went home to be with his heavenly Father Sept. 23, 2023. A funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 at12:30 p.m. at Tar Landing Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Robert Williams
officiating. A committal service with military honors will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Chimer will be remembered for his long and dutiful service to his country in United States Air Force. He achieved the proud rank of Captain. He was a faithful member of Tar Landing Baptist Church.
Chimer was preceded in death by his wife; Joyce Marie Peterson Clark; his parents, Junior Lee Clark and Annie Gertrude Blankenship Clark; two brothers and two sisters.
Chimer is survived by one daughter, Jessica Marie Blackburn of Hampstead; one son, Chimer D. Clark Jr. of Morehead City; three sisters, Mabel D. Hamlin of Christiansburg, Maxine C. Dudley of Christiansburg, and Sadie M. Estes of Blacksburg; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at Tar Landing Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and America Heart Association.
